Our Story
Rebuilding Trust by Honest Food Communication
FoodSciComm was founded to counter the growing wave of misinformation and increasing skepticism in the food industry. Every day, consumers are confronted with confusing and often contradictory messages about food and nutrition—affecting not just personal choices, but also public health outcomes. We respond by applying our Honest Communication and Honest Works frameworks—cutting through noise, replacing vague claims with clarity, and blending facts with creative storytelling. In doing so, we rebuild trust between industry, professionals, and consumers, showing that honest communication is both a responsibility and a strategic value for the food industry.

Why It Matters
Every claim about food shapes more than individual choices; it influences public health and the trust between people, institutions, and brands. By challenging misinformation, simplifying complexity, and creating compelling stories, we help the food industry stakeholders create deeper connections with their audience.
What We Believe
-
Information must be transparent: We share not only conclusions, but also the methods and sources behind them.
-
Marketing should not overshadow truth: We create engaging and compelling stories while we also question the realities behind flashy slogans and claims.
-
Knowledge empowers people: By simplifying complex topics, we strengthen stakeholders to reach their audiences purposefully and effectively.
∴ Honest Communication. Stronger Connections. ∴ Honest Communication. Stronger Connections.∴ Honest Communication. Stronger Connections. ∴ Honest Communication. Stronger Connections.
How We Work
Our work is shaped by an independent network of researchers, interdisciplinary food experts, creative designers, and communicators. Together, we rebuild trust in the food industry through honest communication.
Guided by our Honest Communication and Honest Works frameworks, we go beyond cutting through noise—we create space for clarity, transparency, and meaningful dialogue. Every project combines scientific rigor with creative expression, ensuring that facts are not only reliable but also understandable, engaging, and relevant to real-world contexts.
For us, honest communication is not just ethical—it is the foundation for lasting trust, public credibility, and long-term impact in the food industry.
FoodSciComm as an Initiative
FoodSciComm is a movement toward reshaping food communication. Our other social responsibility projects, such as honestfoodinfo.org, gidabilgi.org represent our commitment for a trustworthy food industry. We see them not as a business model but as a commitment to society, reducing the harm of misinformation by ensuring open access to knowledge.
At the same time, FoodSciComm positions itself as a strategic partner for the food industry. By embedding honesty into communication in strategy, design, packaging, or storytelling, we help organizations build stronger connections with their audiences.
